Obverse description View of the Esslingen city walls and fortification towers with terraced vineyards in the background, flanked by oak sprigs on either side. A hexagonal plaque in the lower field bears a five-line inscription with the event details and dates 2–4 July 1932, with the anniversary years 1382 and 1932 displayed to the sides. The curved legend along the upper rim reads '550 JÄHR. JUBILÄUM'.

Reverse description A gaunt, exhausted male figure — a blacksmith — slumped forward with his head bowed, seated beside an anvil on which a hammer rests upright, symbolising hardship and unemployment during the economic crisis. The curved legend along the upper rim reads 'IM NOTJAHR 1932', and the maker's initials 'M.u.W. ST.' appear in the lower field.
