Reverse description A finely detailed botanical study of the Wild Rose (Rosa acicularis), the floral emblem of Alberta, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. The composition features two thorned stems bearing serrated compound leaves, one fully open five-petalled bloom with prominent stamens at the centre, a partially open bud, and a rounded rose hip, all executed with exceptional naturalistic precision. The engraver's monogram AKH appears in the lower left field.
