Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susan Taylor occupies the central field, depicting the Queen in mature portrait with pearl necklace and hair styled in a bun. The circumferential legend reads ELIZABETH II CANADA D·G·REGINA around the upper periphery. The date 2008 appears to the left of the effigy, while the purity mark 99999 is inscribed to the right. The lower portion of the coin bears the inscription FINE GOLD 350 DOLLARS OR PUR in the exergue area. The portrait and lettering are rendered in frosted relief against a deeply mirrored proof field.
