| Obverse description | Laureate head of Augustus facing right, rendered in bold relief with characteristic Augustan portraiture. The emperor's features are depicted with idealized classicism, his laurel wreath clearly delineated around the brow. The encircling Latin legend reads PERM IMP CAESARIS AVG P P, distributed around the portrait in the field. The flan is irregular and somewhat rough, consistent with provincial Hispanic coinage of the early Imperial period. |
