Obverse description Central field displays the crowned Portuguese royal arms, featuring the escutcheon with five bezants in cross formation (quinas) and a border of seven castles, surmounted by a narrow royal crown topped with a cross. The date appears to the left of the crown and the denomination 320 to the left of the shield, with two rosettes flanking the shield in the right field. The circular legend reading PETRVS·II·D·G·PORT·REX·E·BRAS·D· runs along the periphery, separated from the inner devices by a plain inner border.
