| Obverse description | Central field dominated by the crowned Portuguese royal shield, surmounted by a large ornate crown with fleurs-de-lis and orbs. Two stylized flowers flank the shield on either side in the field. The date 1695 and denomination 320 appear within the circular Latin legend reading PETRVS·II·DG·PORT·REX·E·BRAS·D·, attributing sovereignty to King Pedro II of Portugal and Lord of Brazil. The design is rendered in high relief typical of late 17th-century Iberian milled coinage, with a dentilated border encircling the entire obverse. |
