Reverse description At center, a large armillary sphere rendered in high relief, its meridian rings, equatorial band, and horizon circle all clearly articulated, overlaid by the cross of the Order of Christ — a broad, slightly flared cross with a smaller red cross at its center. The sphere fills virtually the entire field, with the legend divided by the arms of the cross and distributed around the periphery. A beaded border frames the design.
