| Reverse description | The Archangel Saint Michael, depicted as a heroic winged figure with a halo, stands triumphant atop a vanquished dragon, rendered in bold high relief against a deeply mirrored field. Saint Michael is shown semi-nude, bearing a round shield adorned with a cross on his right arm and thrusting a long lance downward through the coiling body of the dragon at his feet. The dragon, shown in profile to the right with gaping jaws and scaled body, is subdued beneath the Archangel's stance. The central design is encircled by an ornate braided or chain-link border, with the Pobjoy Mint mark PM visible at lower left. The denomination Au.999.9 32 OUNCE ANGEL appears in the lower exergue in a combination of serif and display lettering. |
