Reverse description The reverse features a vivid multicolor printed design depicting a young Padaung woman in traditional dress, adorned with the characteristic brass neck coils of her people, set against a colorful woven textile background in yellow, orange, and brown geometric patterns. To the right, a raised silver-finished sculptural relief shows a Padaung woman seated and working at a traditional loom. The legend 'THE PADAUNG' appears in raised letters along the upper rim, and the specification '20gm 999 FINE SILVER' is inscribed vertically along the left field.

Additional information

The Padaung, more properly called the Kayan, are a Burmese minority group whose women are internationally recognized for the brass neck coils worn from childhood — a practice that has drawn both ethnographic scrutiny and, less charitably, tourist-trade exploitation along the Thai-Myanmar border. Their presence on a Cambodian commemorative is geographically curious; the Kayan have no historical connection to Cambodia, placing this squarely in the category of coins issued for the collector market rather than any national cultural documentation.

Norodom Sihamoni ascended to the throne in 2004 following his father Norodom Sihanouk's abdication after six decades of political dominance.
