| Additional information |
Cambodia has no wild tiger population left to speak of — the last confirmed sighting of an Indochinese tiger in the country dates to 2007, and surveys since have found no evidence of breeding individuals. This coin is part of a broader numismatic series drawing attention to regionally extinct or functionally extinct big cats, issued through the National Bank of Cambodia in partnership with a third-party private mint, a now-common arrangement for commemorative legal tender from smaller Southeast Asian nations.
KM#164 is a bullion-adjacent collector piece rather than a circulation strike.
