Additional information

Cameroon has issued commemorative silver under its own name since independence in 1960, but the practical reality is that pieces like this are produced entirely for the international collector market — Cameroon's own monetary authority, the BEAC, handles the country's everyday currency in partnership with five other Central African states. The 3000-franc denomination exists nowhere in daily commerce.

The Shanghai connection points directly to production: a significant portion of African commemorative issues sold through European dealers since the 2010s have been struck at Chinese mints, with licensing arranged through intermediary marketing firms rather than national treasuries.
