| Reverse description | A highly detailed, sculptural effigy of Ludwig van Beethoven is depicted in full-face portrait, rendered in bold high relief with deeply modeled features conveying intensity and gravitas. His characteristically wild, voluminous hair radiates outward from his face, filling much of the inner field. Encircling the portrait is a decorative border composed of a musical stave bearing notes and a treble clef, evoking Beethoven's legendary musical legacy. The field surrounding the effigy and stave border is finished in antique style, enhancing the sculptural depth of the design. |

Cameroon's commemorative coinage program has issued dozens of high-denomination silver pieces bearing foreign cultural figures with no historical connection to the country — Beethoven among them. These are collector-market products issued under Cameroonian authority largely because the central African nation imposes few restrictions on private mint contracts, making it a convenient legal issuer for European minting houses, primarily Münze Austria and B.H. Mayer's Kunstprägeanstalt, seeking to market novelty bullion outside traditional national programs.
The diamond insert is a polished industrial-grade stone, not gem quality. Beethoven died in Vienna in 1827, profoundly deaf for roughly the last decade of his life.
