| Obverse description | Central field features two facing busts in high relief, rendered in an Indo-classical sculptural style — a female figure to the left, adorned with pearl and floral hair ornaments, and a male figure to the right, their faces turned profile toward one another in an intimate near-kiss. Between the two faces rises an elaborate foliate and acanthus motif in deeply struck relief. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN arcs across the upper field, while the denomination 3000 FRANCS CFA and date 2020 appear in the lower field, all in raised Latin lettering against a matte antique-finish ground. |

| Additional information |
The Bank of Central African States serves six member nations — Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon — none of which have any cultural connection to the Kama Sutra, a Sanskrit text composed in northern India somewhere between the 2nd and 4th centuries AD. These erotic bullion issues, produced for the European collector and novelty market, are struck under BEAC's nominal authority purely as a licensing arrangement. The issuing institution has no meaningful role in their design or distribution.
KM#297 is the second in a subseries, the first having appeared under the same program in prior years.
