| Obverse description | The interior face of a hoplon shield dominates the central field, rendered in high relief with an antique finish. A central omphalos boss is flanked by decorative rope-and-tassel garlands suspended from a stylized palmette at the top, evoking classical Greek ornamentation. The shield surface bears a textured hide or leather background, characteristic of ancient hoplon construction.
