Obverse description The obverse bears the national coat of arms of Chad centrally positioned within the lower circular portion of the snowman-shaped flan, depicted with two caprine supporters flanking a central shield, surmounted by a solar disc. The legend REPUBLIQUE DU TCHAD curves along the periphery of the circular body in Latin characters. Above the arms, the fineness inscription 999/1000 FINE GOLD appears in the field, and the denomination 3.000 FRANCS CFA is struck below the coat of arms.

Additional information

At 0.028 grams, this is among the smallest gold coins produced by any mint currently active — a format pioneered in recent years by the Polish Mint, which struck this piece on behalf of Chad as part of its micro-gold novelty series. Chad's CFA franc is issued collectively under the BEAC (Bank of Central African States), meaning the monetary authority nominally backing this coin spans six nations, none of which have a meaningful tradition of domestic gold coinage.
