| Obverse description | The obverse displays the national coat of arms of Chad in the central field. Surrounding the arms, the legend REPUBLIQUE DU TCHAD identifies the issuing authority, while the denomination 3.000 FRANCS CFA and the fineness inscription 999/1000 FINE GOLD are also present, affirming both the face value and the purity of the gold content. |

The BEAC issues commemorative gold in fractional weights almost exclusively for the international collector market — these pieces circulate in name only, with no realistic path into the cash economies of Cameroon, Chad, or the other CEMAC member states. At 0.031 g, this is among the smallest gold coins produced by any recognized monetary authority, a format pioneered largely by the Scottsdale Mint under contract arrangements that have supplied much of the BEAC's collector output since the mid-2010s.
