Additional information

The 2007 Year of the Pig completed Perth Mint's first full twelve-year Lunar Series I cycle, which had begun with the 1996 Year of the Rat. At the 1 kilogram denomination, mintage was capped at just 88 pieces — the number chosen for its significance in Chinese numerology, where eight is strongly associated with prosperity and good fortune. That ceiling has never been revised upward.
