| Obverse description | The obverse displays the national emblem of the People's Republic of China at centre, depicting Tiananmen Gate surmounted by five stars and encircled by a wreath of grain ears with a cogwheel at the base. The emblem is rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field and is surrounded by an elaborate border of traditional Chinese ruyi cloud scrolls and geometric key-fret ornamental motifs in frosted relief. The legend 中华人民共和国 (People's Republic of China) arcs around the upper periphery in Chinese characters, and the date 2011 appears in the lower field, all framed within the decorative border. |
