| Obverse description | The obverse features a richly ornate square frame composed of stylized cloud and dragon motifs in high relief, set against a mirror-polished field. At the centre of the frame appears the official Beijing 2008 Olympic emblem — a red colored seal-script figure in the form of a running athlete — above the inscription 'Beijing 2008' in Latin script and the five-colored Olympic rings below, both partially colored. The Chinese legend 中华人民共和国 (People's Republic of China) is distributed around the upper periphery, with the date 2008 incused along the lower rim. |
