Reverse description The Portuguese royal arms — a shield bearing the quintas (five escutcheons arranged in cross) and the bordure of castles — surmounted by a royal crown, all within a cartouche or ornamental frame. The denomination numeral 300 appears in the upper portion of the field, with the Goa mint mark GA below, flanked by decorative elements. The reverse design is boldly struck though somewhat off-centre, consistent with hammered production at the Goa mint.
