| Reverse description | The central field displays a stylised paper-cut depiction of a prancing horse rendered in a traditional folk-art manner, facing left with decorative floral and foliate motifs adorning its body. The legend YEAR OF THE HORSE is inscribed in the exergue below the horse, with the denomination 300 NGULTRUM arcing along the lower periphery. Arranged in a circle around the inner border are twelve Year of the Horse cycle dates — 1918, 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, and 2014 — separated by raised dots, referencing successive sixty-year Lunar calendar cycles.
