Obverse description The national emblem of Bhutan, depicting two dragons facing one another and flanking a central double vajra (thunderbolt) motif, is rendered in high relief within a raised circular border, dividing the date 1992 to either side. The legend KINGDOM OF BHUTAN arcs along the upper periphery in Latin characters, while a Dzongkha script inscription appears in the lower field below the emblem.

Reverse description A golden langur monkey (Trachypithecus geei) is depicted in profile, perched and moving along a diagonal tree branch that extends across the lower field, with its long tail curving upward behind it. Foliage elements appear to the right, while a traditional Bhutanese dzong or temple structure is rendered in detail in the upper centre background. The legend ENDANGERED WILDLIFE arcs along the upper periphery, and the denomination 300 NGULTRUM curves along the lower border, both in Latin characters.
