Obverse description The obverse rim bears selective rose gold plating, framing the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II as depicted at approximately 77 years of age, bare-headed, wearing a necklace and earrings, facing right — based on the Susanna Blunt portrait used on Canadian coinage from 2003. Flanking the effigy is a commemorative double-date marking reading '1952' and '2022,' separated by four pearls symbolising the four royal effigies that graced Canadian coinage during the reign of Elizabeth II. A repeating scallop pattern encircles the inner border, lending a decorative yet regal character to the design. The obverse legend arcs around the field in Latin, recording the monarch's name and title.

Reverse description Set against a matte platinum field, the reverse presents a composition of two sugar maple leaves (Acer saccharum): a classically rendered leaf occupies the background, rendered in fine engraving, while a multifaceted, geometrically styled leaf commands the foreground, its faceted surfaces creating dynamic light reflection. Selective rose gold plating applied to the rim and the foremost leaf introduces a warm chromatic contrast against the cool platinum ground, enhancing the visual hierarchy of the design. Inscriptions identifying the issuer, year, fineness, metal, and weight arc around the composition within the rose-gold-plated border.
