Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the portrait by Susanna Blunt, depicted wearing a pearl necklace and earrings with neatly coiffed hair. The bust is rendered in high relief against a fine guilloche latticework background that radiates across the entire field, evoking the security printing of historical Canadian fractional currency. The legend ELIZABETH II is inscribed along the left arc, and D•G•REGINA along the right arc, both in raised Latin capitals. The engraver's initials appear discretely at the base of the truncation.
