| Obverse description | The obverse bears the mature effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, as portrayed at approximately 77 years of age, bare-headed and uncrowned, wearing a necklace and drop earrings. The portrait is executed in the style established by Susanna Blunt for Canadian coinage. The legend 'ELIZABETH II D•G•REGINA' arcs along the upper periphery of the field, identifying the monarch by name and title. |

| Reverse description | The reverse features a vivid holographic colour scene celebrating the IMAX cinematic experience. In the lower portion of the field, a darkened theatre auditorium is depicted with rows of seated spectators viewed from behind, among whom a young child raises an arm upward in wonder and excitement. Dominating the upper field, a large shark looms dramatically overhead against a luminous screen, rendered as though leaping towards the viewer in classic IMAX three-dimensional perspective. The polished gold legend 'CANADA 2008' arcs along the upper border, while '300 DOLLARS' is inscribed along the lower border, both standing in relief against the dark milled rim. |
