| Additional information |
The 2014 Year of the Horse issue is the largest denomination coin in Perth Mint's long-running Lunar Series II program, which began in 2008 and cycles through the full twelve-animal zodiac. At 10 kilograms of .999 silver, production numbers are extremely low — the Mint caps mintage on these pieces in the single hundreds, making secondary-market appearances infrequent. The Horse year holds particular commercial significance in Chinese numismatic markets, as the animal is associated with speed and success, driving demand well above comparable issues in the same series.
