| Obverse description | The nickel-plated steel centre depicts a detailed rendering of a traditional Korean multi-tiered pavilion gate set upon a stone fortress wall, with sparse vegetation in the foreground. A circular legend in Korean (Hangul) script arcs around the upper portion of the centre field, reading the full official name of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The denomination legend '30 WON' appears in Latin characters at the base of the centre disc. The brass-plated steel outer ring is richly adorned with an ornate floral and scrollwork design in relief. |
