| Reverse description | Cast brass reverse displaying a central square perforation surrounded by four Chinese characters in regular script (khải thư), arranged in cruciform layout. 準 (Chuẩn, meaning 'equal to' or 'equivalent') appears at the top, 文 (Văn, the monetary unit) at the bottom, 三 (Tam, 'three') to the right, and 十 (Thập, 'ten') to the left, together reading 準三十文 — 'equivalent to thirty văn.' The inscription formally establishes the token's face value in the Vietnamese monetary system. The broad, plain rim frames the design, and the casting surface retains its characteristic granular texture. The characters are boldly rendered and well-centered relative to the square hole. |
