Additional information

Emmanuel de Rohan-Pölüe served as Grand Master from 1775 until his death in 1797, presiding over the Order's final years of actual sovereignty over Malta. The two KM varieties (335.1 and 335.2) reflect die differences documented across the production run — minor enough to escape casual notice but sufficient to distinguish them in specialist references. Napoleon seized Malta in June 1798, less than a year after Rohan died, ending over two and a half centuries of Hospitaller rule on the island and terminating the coinage tradition this piece belongs to.
