Obverse description Central shield bearing the Deventer arms — a double-headed eagle — surmounted by a large crown, flanked on either side by a rampant lion supporter facing inward. The heraldic composition is bold and deeply struck in the late Dutch baroque civic style. A partial circular Latin legend runs along the outer rim, divided by the crowned shield and its supporters.

Reverse description A fully armored knight stands facing left with head turned to the right, brandishing a straight upright sword in his raised right hand. The figure divides the field, with the denomination numeral and abbreviated value legend appearing to either side. A privy mark in the form of a dog is positioned between the knight's legs. The date 1685 and the denomination 30 ST appear within the circular Latin legend, which is punctuated by floral ornaments.
