Reverse description An armored knight, known as the Dutch soldier or 'staande man', depicted standing in three-quarter view facing right, wearing a plumed helmet and holding a drawn sword raised in his right hand. His left arm rests upon the civic shield of Deventer bearing the double-headed eagle, positioned in the lower central field. The circular legend AVXILIANTE DEO with the date 1686 flanks the figure. The composition follows the standard daalder-type reverse design widely employed by Dutch provincial and civic mints during the seventeenth century.
