Reverse description Crowned quartered royal shield of arms displaying the arms of England (three passant guardant lions) in the first and fourth quarters, France (three fleurs-de-lis) in the second quarter, Scotland (a rampant lion) and Ireland (a harp) in the remaining quarters, all surmounted by a royal crown of elaborate form. A thistle marks the commencement of the circumferential legend. The shield is flanked by decorative acanthus-style scrollwork, and the entire device is contained within a beaded outer border.
