| Obverse description | Central field occupied by a quartered heraldic shield displaying the combined arms of the della Rovere dynasty and the Duchy of Urbino, surmounted by a ducal crown with visible pearls and arches rendered in relief. The quarterings depict the characteristic dynastic devices of the ruling house in bold hammered relief. A circular Latin legend surrounds the shield, separated from the inner field by a plain border and from the coin's rope-edged rim by a narrow margin. The overall composition is typical of late Renaissance Italian hammered coinage, with an irregular flan characteristic of the period. |
