Reverse description The reverse features three horizontally banded panels, each depicting a colorized DC Comics superhero in a dynamic action pose, rendered in vivid enamel coloring. The uppermost panel shows Superman in his iconic red-and-blue costume, fist raised, cape billowing behind him. The central panel portrays Wonder Woman in combat stance, wielding her sword, with the date 2016 and denomination 30 DOLLARS incused in the adjacent field. The lower panel presents Batman in armored suit, crouching against a swarm of bats rising from darkness. The DC Comics logo appears in the upper left of the field.

Additional information

Issued under a licensing agreement between Warner Bros. and the Royal Canadian Mint, this coin is part of a DC Comics series that coincided with the theatrical release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in March 2016. The RCM had been building its relationship with pop-culture licensors since at least the early 2010s, and by mid-decade these numismatic/collectible crossover issues had become a reliable revenue stream — bought overwhelmingly by fans rather than coin collectors, and rarely entering the secondary numismatic market in any meaningful volume.
