| Obverse description | The obverse features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II as portrayed at approximately 77 years of age, bare-headed and wearing a necklace and earrings, facing right, as designed for her later-reign Canadian coinage. The legend encircling the field reads ELIZABETH II D•G•REGINA and CANADA 2024, with the denomination 30 DOLLARS also inscribed. A commemorative double date marking, 1952 and 2022, separated by four pearls symbolising the four royal effigies that graced Canadian coinage throughout her reign, accompanies the portrait. The four pearls serve as a tribute to the successive portrait series issued during Her Majesty's seventy-year reign. |

The outermost band features figural representations of each Zodiacal sign, each paired with its corresponding astrological glyph in an inner band set against a selectively coloured night sky rendered in vivid hues. The signs are numbered according to their traditional zodiacal order, beginning at the top and progressing counterclockwise: Aries (1), Taurus (2), Gemini (3), Cancer (4), Leo (5), Virgo (6), Libra (7), Scorpio (8), Sagittarius (9), Capricorn (10), Aquarius (11), and Pisces (12).
