| Reverse description | Elaborate gilt mandala composition depicting the Nakadai Hachiyoin, the central deity and eight attendant Buddhist figures of the Womb Realm mandala. A larger central lotus-petal medallion features the principal bodhisattva seated in meditation upon a lotus throne, encircled by a radiating halo and an ornate lobed border. Eight surrounding lotus-shaped medallions, arranged symmetrically around the central figure, each contain an individually rendered seated Buddhist deity or bodhisattva upon a lotus pedestal, all rendered in gold-plated high relief against a mirror-polished silver field. Stylised vajra or flame motifs fill the interstices between the petalled medallions, completing the sacred geometric composition. |
