Additional information

Part of the Royal Canadian Mint's platinum Wildlife series, this 2004 issue belongs to a program that helped establish Canada as a dominant force in the global bullion coin market during the 1990s and early 2000s. The fractional denominations in the series were struck in comparatively small quantities against the one-ounce flagship, making survival rates in pristine condition lower than the mintage figures alone suggest — handling damage on small platinum planchets is unforgiving.
