Obverse lettering ELIZABETH II D·G·REGINA
(Translation: Elizabeth II Queen by the grace of God)
Reverse description An elaborate naturalistic composition celebrating Canada's flora and fauna fills the entire reverse field. A central stylised maple leaf motif with a prismatic laser-cut or engraved star element anchors the design, surrounded by a dense arrangement of indigenous wildlife including a bison, white-tailed deer, great horned owl, beaver, moose, fox, various songbirds, and a goose, all set among foliage and maple branches rendered in intricate detail. The inscription CANADA arcs along the upper rim, and the denomination 30 DOLLARS together with the date 2017 appears at the lower rim. The designer's initials SH appear discretely within the reverse field. The composition commemorates Canada's 150th anniversary, celebrating the nation's rich natural heritage.
