Obverse description Fourth crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, after the model by Ian Rank-Broadley, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. The legend around the upper field reads ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA 30 DOLLARS, with the engraver's initials IRB truncated below the portrait.

Reverse description A seated dog rendered in applied color occupies the central field, depicted in profile facing left atop a stylized rocky outcrop. The animal's eye is set with a sparkling gemstone in the diamond-eyes variant. A decorative border of pad-printed auspicious Chinese cloud-and-beast motifs in gold and purple encircles the design. The Chinese character for Dog (狗) appears in the right field, the date 2006 is inscribed vertically along the left field, and the legend 1 KILO 999 SILVER is incused along the lower exergue.
