The Perth Mint's annual lunar series has been running since 1996, making it one of the longest-continuously-issued bullion programs in the Southern Hemisphere. The Dragon year carries particular commercial weight — demand for dragon-dated gold reliably outpaces most other zodiac issues, a pattern the mint prices into its premiums accordingly.
Charles III's effigy appears on Australian coinage for the first time across the 2023 issues, replacing the Jody Clark portrait of Elizabeth II used since 2015.
