| Obverse description | The obverse reproduces a Spanish Republic postage stamp printed in red on a white paper disc affixed to a plain cardboard disc. At the top of the stamp field, the legend REPUBLICA ESPANOLA appears in two lines within a decorative border. The central vignette features a three-quarter facing portrait of the Spanish statesman and Enlightenment figure Gaspar Melchor de Jovellanos, rendered in fine engraved line style with powdered wig and period dress. The denomination 30 is repeated in circular cartouches at lower left and lower right of the vignette, with CORREOS above and CENTIMOS below in the lower portion of the stamp field. Along the bottom margin of the stamp, the issuing authority FCA NAL DE MONEDA Y TIMBRE is inscribed in small capitals, and the stamp image is framed by a simulated perforation border. |
