Obverse description Two archaic Chinese seal-script ideograms reading right to left across the central square hole, denoting the denomination. The characters 銖三 (San Zhu, "3 Zhu") are rendered in low relief within the coin's flat field. A raised rim encircles the outer edge of the coin, a defining feature of this type. The surfaces show the characteristic patina and casting texture typical of early Western Han bronzes.

Reverse description Plain, uniface reverse with no design, inscription, or ornamentation. The flat field surrounds the central square hole and is bounded by a raised outer rim consistent with the obverse.
