| Reverse description | The reverse presents a boldly rendered imperial five-clawed dragon in high relief, depicted in a sinuous coiling posture that fills the entire field. The dragon faces right with an open jaw, prominent horns, and detailed scaled body, its tail curling downward toward the lower field. In the lower portion of the field, below the dragon's body, the two Chinese characters 十五 (shí wǔ, meaning 'year 15') are inscribed, denoting the fifteenth year of the Minh Mạng reign era. The entire design is encircled by a finely milled or rope-pattern border consistent with Nguyễn dynasty casting practice. The dragon's vigorous, dynamic treatment reflects the high artistic standards of the imperial Huế mint. |
