Obverse description Full-length effigy of Maximilian III, Archduke of Austria and Grand Master of the Teutonic Order, depicted standing in three-quarter view facing left, clad in full plate armor and wearing a mantle, with a crested great helm at his right and a lion-supported shield bearing the arms of Austria at his left. The cross of the Teutonic Order is emblazoned on the cuirass. The figure is contained within a beaded inner circle decorated with foliate ornament, the feet of the Grand Master, the supporting lion, and the helm breaking the inner circle into the surrounding legend. The date 1614 appears below the feet of the figure.
