| Obverse description | Equestrian effigy of Duke August the Younger facing right, depicted in full armour with plumed hat, mounted on a prancing horse with elaborate caparison. The numeral '3' appears in the field beneath the horse, denoting the denomination. The scene is set within an inner beaded border, surrounded by a circular Latin legend reading AUGUSTUS VG HER ZOG BRUNS UND LUNABURG. The composition is executed in high relief in the robust Baroque style characteristic of Brunswick Löser coinage. |
