Obverse description Central field displays a prominent crescent moon with a six-pointed star superimposed at its centre, rendered in low relief against a plain field. The crescent opens downward in the traditional Islamic numismatic style. A circular border of Arabic legend surrounds the central motif, with the mint name and Hijri date inscribed along the periphery. The coin's irregular flan and crudely struck surface are characteristic of the hammered coinage produced at the Bukhara mint in its final years of operation.
