Obverse description Central field features a snow lion passant to the left, depicted in high relief within a circular inner border, set against a stylised mountainous landscape with two asterisk-like stars in the upper field. The lion stands upon a band of waves and faces a flaming jewel. Surrounding the central motif, an outer annular band carries a Tibetan legend divided by an endless knot (dpal be'u) at lower left and a cloud scroll ornament at lower right. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border running along the coin's rim.
