Obverse description Central field displays the quartered arms of Gorizia — a shield bearing a rampant lion in the upper left quarter and diagonal bands in the lower right — surmounted by a large imperial crown with elaborate foliate decoration. The shield is flanked by ornate baroque scrollwork and foliate cartouche elements. The rim is bordered by a raised beaded inner circle and a reeded outer edge, giving the coin a refined decorative frame. No legend appears on the obverse, the heraldic composition filling the entire face.
