Obverse description Central field displays the crowned municipal arms of Warendorf, a quartered shield with ornate cartouche-style mantling and scrollwork surround. The shield is surmounted by a crown and flanked by elaborate foliate and strapwork ornaments. A beaded inner border frames the design, with the circular Latin legend reading STADT : WARENDORP arranged around the periphery. The overall style is characteristic of early seventeenth-century German civic coinage, with bold relief and decorative baroque flourishes.
