Obverse description Central field dominated by the elaborate crowned cipher of Bishop Francis William of Wartenberg, composed of interlaced initials F and W surmounted by a princely crown with cross finial. The monogram is rendered in bold relief and flanked by decorative foliate and scroll ornaments. The entire design is enclosed within an inner beaded or rope border, with an outer ring of continuous scrollwork and floral motifs filling the broad rim.

Reverse description Central field bearing the Roman numeral denomination III (3 Schilling) in bold upright characters, with a dot separating each numeral. Above the denomination appears the wheel of Osnabrück — the heraldic Catherine wheel, symbol of the bishopric — set within a circular frame. The date 1633 is divided to either side of the central design. The entire composition is enclosed within a decorative scrollwork border matching the obverse, with foliate ornaments filling the rim.
